Chicago Cubs news and notes — Kelly, Thornton, Suzuki

Today’s Reflections I’m sure the encyclopedic minds out there will think of a better player, but I can’t imagine that there has been a better non-pitcher “backup” free-agent acquisition in recent years that Carson Kelly. I like Miguel Amaya, but Kelly can stay the Cubs starting catcher for as long as he would like to be in Chicago. I realize he’s hitting almost 70 points above his career batting average, but the Cubs are big on everyone being a leader, and he shows it at and behind the plate. Re
