City Council approves compromise that freezes hourly pay for tipped workers

With only one dissenting vote, the City Council agreed Wednesday to freeze the hourly pay of Chicago’s tipped workers at 76% of the minimum wage for the next two years for large restaurants, and for four more years for smaller establishments with 21 or fewer employees.
