On this day 76 years ago, Red Corriden (standing, middle) took over as manager of the White Sox. After finishing out the 1950 season, Corriden spent the rest of the 1950s as a Dodgers scout. 1933 On the same day that the White Sox were awarded the very first All-Star Game, the club suffered their second-worst turnaround loss ever.
